Meticulously hand-blown and engraved with interwoven, traditional Japanese motifs, Shimizu Glass Co.’s Maru Sasa Shot Glass is a sterling example of Edo kiriko cut glass from masters of the ancient art form, who have been practicing it for more than 100 years. At a small workshop in Tokyo, a team of exceptional glassmakers hand-produce each shot glass with the the “sasa” pattern evoking bamboo leaves—and imbue it with a deep burgundy coloration produced by blending copper particles into the glass.

Each piece is individually handmade, and natural variations in color, texture, and finish are to be expected and celebrated.
