MAGGIE WELLS
ON THE NATURE OF THINGS

The artist Maggie Wells finds form through intuition. Whether it is her organic and biomorphic clay sculptures or her innumerable non-figurative drawings, Wells perceives shape through a cognitive response to the materials and their expressive qualities. In this installation at RW Guild Gallery, Wells has created pieces that invite viewers to experience a sense of delight as they move around the artwork, finding the composition just like the artist herself.
