GLASSBLOWER, VASES & GOBLETS
Trained in Korea and the United States, glass artisan Hyunsung Cho hand blows delicate, beautifully shaped goblets, glasses and vases in his studio in Seoul, Korea. Cho focuses on creating a silhouette in which tension and balance coexist through bold and simple form. Recalling the wonder of nature, the cups and stems of his graceful goblets evoke spring flowers that sprout from seeds after winter. His striking Veronese vase is inspired by the glass object that appears in a 16th-century painting by Italian Renaissance painter Paulo Veronese. The artisan has had exhibitions in Korea and the United States, and has been honored with a “Best in Show” at BIGG: Breakthrough Ideas in Global Glass sponsored by Steuben Glass.

GLASSBLOWER, VASES & GOBLETS
“Glass is the medium that best reflects my innermost feelings,” observes master glass blower Hyunsung Cho. “When approaching glass in its fluid state, I am deeply moved by the metamorphosis from a molten state to the solidified shape of my design.” Cho handblows beautifully shaped goblets and vases in his studio in Korea. He has earned two master’s degrees in glass, one in Korea and one in the United States, and has been honored with a “Best in Show” at BIGG: Breakthrough Ideas in Global Glass, sponsored by Steuben Glass. Cho agrees with the Italian glass artist Livio Seguso who said glass is “a material that seems to be born out of the sea to live in the air shaped by fire; it fascinates and ignites the imagination.’”
