Andrew McGarva
Nièvre, France

Ceramist and author, Andrew McGarva, with the help of his wife Clare, makes his own red clay for his handmade, bold slipware that celebrates English 18th Century earthenware.  Born in 1956, he set up his first workshop in 1979.  In 1990 he and Clare moved into “La Tuilerie” a magnificent 18th Century tile mill.

"With red clay on site, I had the opportunity to make my own version of historic ceramics."
