Noaya Arakawa’s masterfully hand-blown Mizore vases are distinguished by their swirling, frosty finish, which the artist achieves through adding a special mixture to the glass before he hand-blows them, then coating the surface of his forms in layers of molten glass. When cooled, each resulting vase captures the flurrying fall of sleet.
