Rug No.12

BY  Cappelen Dimyr

$7,350 USD

This design is a follow up from no. 11. It is a rustic rug, heavy and compact, made in luxury chunky wool woven in a classic basket weave construction.
The bold and oversized yarn runs through the entire rug and transitions into fringes along the sides, made from the same yarn.
No 12 comes in a creamy natural ivory white, made from unbleached New Zeeland wool.

This elevated yet simple piece is more classic in appearance than the rest of the Cappelen Dimyr collection, while still capturing the essence of its DNA: conscious, crafted, and personal.

Care Instructions: Cappelen Dimyr is produced by hand in the finest wool with long and strong fibers. Because of its natural structure, the long pile rugs tend to shed initially, and it is therefore recommended to vacuum the rugs daily in the beginning. It is common for rugs to lose individual fibers, and this has been taken in to consideration in all Cappelen Dimyr designs, to make sure that the excess fibers do not affect the quality of the rug. It is recommended flat spout when vacuuming long pile rugs to avoid damaging the yarn. Make sure not to use a heavy beater bar. Shedding tends to decrease within a couple of months.

About Cappelen Dimyr

Cappelen Dimyr is an artistic collective based in Copenhagen, which was founded in 2018 by four creatives – two sisters plus one sister’s husband and a friend -- with the goal of making quiet yet sophisticated, richly textured handmade rugs inspired by the rustic southeast coast of Sweden. The collective produces striking made-to-order rugs rendered in natural fibers in earthy, neutral tones. Designed in Scandinavia, each rug is handmade in India in collaboration with local artisans applying their knowledge and craftsmanship. Its workshops are authorized by Good Weave Certification and the certification of Care & Fair. Soft and plush, the rugs speak with the calm elegance of refined Scandinavian design.
