Designed, prototyped, and refined by Stephen Alesch and Robin Standefer, the RW Montauk Candelabra is a work of botanical beauty in blackened steel, whose hearty, hand-wrought tendrils reach ever upward. The piece’s sculptural body sits above eye level so as not to impede cross-table views, and its stems hold candles at varying heights to create an undulating meadow of light.

Stephen Alesch and Robin Standefer are the founders and principals of Roman and Williams, Roman and Williams Guild, La Mercerie, and Guild Gallery. In addition to finding and assembling the world’s most prodigious artists for their modern guild of the senses, the husband-and-wife team prolifically makes, creates, and leads. In their work, nature serves as a timeless source of inspiration for the future of how we live.
Each RW Montauk Candelabra is forged, welded, and finished entirely by hand by master craftsmen in the Northeast.
Inspired by nature, the candelabra’s minimalist base and slender stems evoke the silhouette of a tree, rendered in miniature.
Blackened steel both contrasts with and complements candlelight, subtly absorbing and reflecting flame as it flickers.
