Globe Series Egg Shade
Starting at $2,000 USD
Our globe glass shades are seemingly simple designs that are exceedingly difficult to make. We offer two silhouettes of this poetically quiet design – a true/traditional globe and an egg-shaped – both crafted domestically by skilled artisans in a highly choreographed dance of mouth blowing and hand shaping. Each silhouette can be specified in a choice of three glass tones (clear, nude and gradient), three sizes, and three fitters from which the glass globe hangs: pipe, chain or wooden sock (sold separately).
When purchasing, please select a shade and a fitter.
Stephen Alesch and Robin Standefer’s Roman and Williams Guild Original Designs are each branded with our insignia and delivered with a Certificate of Authenticity.

About the Designers
Stephen Alesch and Robin Standefer are the founders and principals of Roman and Williams, Roman and Williams Guild, La Mercerie, and Guild Gallery. In addition to finding and assembling the world’s most prodigious artists for their modern guild of the senses, the husband-and-wife team prolifically makes, creates, and leads. In their work, nature serves as a timeless source of inspiration for the future of how we live.

Our globe glass shades are poetically quiet designs, offered in bubble or egg shapes, and hand made domestically.

Artisans skillfully employ gravity to create a warm, milky gradient glass shade using our proprietary color formula.

A seemingly simple form that’s exceedingly hard to make–one in ten meet our standards.

Each shade hangs from a pipe, chain or wood sock fitter that is hand made in an age-old French workshop.
