From her seaside studio in eastern Japan, Ayuko Iizuka crafts delicate, luminous glassware through the painstaking art of pâte de verre. It can require more than a week of sculpting, molding, firing, grinding, sanding, and polishing to create one piece of finished glassware. Appearing to glow, each work is minutely detailed with floral designs that feel plucked from nature itself.v
