The Seed Pendant lighting fixture features a handblown glass shade hanging from a cast bronze chain that is made using the “lost wax” process, a centuries-old technique. Each link of the chain is individually cast and assembled. The fixture’s canopy and fitter are also cast bronze with uneven surfaces that reveal the sculpting and casting process. A single piece of handblown gradient glass forms the oblong Seed shade, which resembles an elongated pod. The Seed Pendant is part the Seed and Branch Series in Bronze, which also includes the Branch Candelabra.
About the Designers
Stephen Alesch and Robin Standefer are the founders and principals of Roman and Williams, Roman and Williams Guild, La Mercerie, and Guild Gallery.
