Takashi Tomii

Takashi Tomii first developed an interest in woodworking as a teenager during a one year stay in Oregon. At the age of 25, he devoted himself to the study of woodcraft entering "Shinrin Takumi Juku" where he spent 2 years studying furniture making. He later worked at well-known wood maker Oak Village, which produces wooden interior products and furniture. In 2008, Tomii moved to Shigaraki, where he began production of his wooden tableware and utensils using both hand tools and a lathe. Tomii currently lives and works in Niigata with his wife and children.
