The timeless Davenport Sofa is a modern interpretation of classic seventeenth century English designs. Architectural in form, it features graceful arms ending with a smooth curvature where a hand can gracefully rest. This artisanal piece is made by hand to order and handstitched in a workshop in Pennyslvania. The Davenport Sofa is fully upholstered and has a solid wood construction. Exposed wood struts on the back are softened with chamfered edges and finished with signature metal hardware. Reinforced joints and eight-way hand-tied springs produce lasting comfort.

Stephen Alesch and Robin Standefer are the founders and principals of Roman and Williams, Roman and Williams Guild, La Mercerie, and Guild Gallery. In addition to finding and assembling the world’s most prodigious artists for their modern guild of the senses, the husband-and-wife team prolifically makes, creates, and leads. In their work, nature serves as a timeless source of inspiration for the future of how we live.
