Our Original Designs are made to order by master craftsmen, using historical techniques passed down through generations, to create modern heirlooms that will endure for many years to come.

Our furniture designs are exquisitely upholstered by hand, with a choice of coverings from textiles typically available only to the trade, to bespoke leathers from a 450 year-old family owned tannery.

We’ve reconsidered and completely redesigned the exposed hardware that bonds our furniture, transforming these unsung heroes into elegant emblems in custom finishes.

Our lighting designs are crafted from the noblest of materials, by skilled artisans both here and abroad, resulting in quietly captivating pieces that beautifully engage with a space, even when unlit.

The Guild has been in the making for almost three decades, a hearty stew of co-conspirators Robin Standefer and Stephen Alesch tenaciously sought out from around the globe to bring their Original Designs to life. Each design is a creative discussion that evolves while Stephen sketches and, often, will prototype in the woodshop he built at the couple’s Montauk home.
