Founded in Copenhagen in 1904 by Denmark’s preeminent silversmith, Georg Jensen strove out “to create democratic designs possessing both functionality and beauty.” Georg Jensen (1866-1935) trained in metalsmithing and the fine arts, and combined the two disciplines in the tradition of the artist craftsman. Jensen trusted his designers to follow their creativity, and in 1930 Gundorph Albertus created the iconic Cactus sterling silver flatware pattern, which combines simplicity with stylized Art Deco details. In true Georg Jensen style, the silverware pattern mixes floral flourishes with Scandinavian clarity.

Silversmith Georg Jensen founded his renowned, namesake tableware company in Copenhagen in 1904. The Beaded cutlery pattern was designed in 1916 by Jensen himself. The delicate, refined pattern is representative of the early 20th century’s Art Nouveau style. With a hammered surface and simple row of beads that accentuate the handle, the Beaded collection is one of Georg Jensen’s classic silver flatware patterns. Each piece is handcrafted in sterling silver.
