Hitoshi Morimoto Shirahana Vase #05

by Hitoshi MORIMOTO

Hitoshi Morimoto’s Bizen works are informed by traditional Japanese ceramics and modernized by a mastery of craft. Their antique silhouettes are crafted from very rare Bizen clay and brought to life in an ancient kiln.

‘Shirahana’ meaning white flower is Hitoshi Morimoto’s collection of pure white Bizen vessels which encompass the naturalness of clean clay. Pieces are fired inside of a Kerosene oven, which removes all ash and flame variants, creating a colorless object that embraces the organic.
