About Tensira

In 2010, husband and wife team Hamidou Diallo and Tuulia Makinen Diallo created Tensira – a company that offers upscale home linen and fashion accessories.  Hamidou is originally from Guinea, speaks four languages fluently, his mother was an artisanal indigo dyer for more than 40 years in Guinea and is a source of inspiration for Tensira. Tuulia is a native of Finland and Artistic Manager for their company, producing two collections a year.   What makes their products unique is the fusion between Nordic design and traditional West-African craftsmanship. Tensira’s designs and crafts originate from the Republic of Guinea, West Africa. Named after a small village known for the dyeing of indigo, all of Tensira’s products are 100% cotton, hand-spun, hand-woven, and hand-dyed.
