Kazuto Yoshikawa
Tokyo, Japan

Kazuto Yoshikawa was born in the Fukushima Prefecture and grew up in a house beside a forest.  Fascinated by the trees cycles of life and communion with nature, his work reflects signs of life and fresh sensuality.  Each piece conveys the personality and charm of the tree it is a part of.  Yoshikawa studied woodworking technology and Japanese Forest Culture at the Gifu Prefectural Forest Culture Academy.

"I want to keep the fragile parts of the hides and knots as evidence that the trees have survived growing."
