Eichenlaub’s history dates back to 1910 and in 1998 when Giselheid Herder-Scholz took over operations, she was intent on taking the quality of the cutlery with the oak leaves to the next level. Being the fourth-generation of her family in this business, she had the know-how but had her work cut out for her. Daunting for Eichenlaub was that its style had been plagued by lesser quality copies or bootlegs. She’s overcome many obstacles to regain the fame of the Eichenlaub brand. Each piece is handmade, with tremendous care.
