Hailing from north central Mexico, Jan Barboglio’s work derives inspiration from her roots on a ranch in where she spent her summers as a child.
First thinking she wanted to be a cattlehand, Barboglio later decided to celebrate her love for the romance and spirituality of old Mexico in making objects that resonated with these sentiments. “Everything I design is meant to have an old hacienda feel. Every object has a warmth to it.”

Raised in Coahuila, Mexico on a cattle farm once shared by Mexican Revolutionaries, Jan Barboglio’s first dreams were of being a cattle hand. As she grew, she began designing clothing with her sister until she transitioned into sculpting accessories and furniture for herself, which has evolved into her being an artist of interior design since the 1990s. Known for her attention to detail and her ability to bring the spiritual aspect of old Mexico to the home.
